SEMESTER 1 SUBJECTS

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.
As I have promised before, I will explain what will be learned in each semester.

Ok well, before this I have shared the lists of subjects to be studied, right? So, at the beginning of this subtopic, I will briefly explain what will be learned from semester 1 to semester 5. oh! yeah I forgot to say that the 2 and a half years that I told you that day consists of 5 semesters without an intern.

SEMESTER 1

This semester 1 time I don't feel many struggles but there is one subject that requires your expertise in editing. Let me explain one by one.

Here is the list of subjects you will take during semester 1: -

It seems easy, but you need a lot of research and skills to meet the criteria of your assignment later. This semester 1, you must struggle a bit because if you get a good CGPA during semester 1, you can calm a little bit for the next semesters (This is my personal view).

LIB 101 and COM 167 subjects you have to read a lot and do in-depth research because later you have to make a report and some more assignments in that subject. You can't be lazy and playful, most importantly, never procrastinate your work.

For COM 165 and COM 130 subjects, like I said above, you need to have basic skills and knowledge regarding editing, writing, speaking in public and your English has to be great (not like westerners but at least can speak in front of your lecturer). For me, COM 165 is not a problem because it is more to expose you to what public speaking is and master your soft skills (masscomers must be great at speaking). COM 130 you have to have a slightly sophisticated laptop that can at least support software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and others because later you have to do magazine layout, tracing, and editing (This is my first semester). On this subject, I'm serious, you can't procrastinate at all because an assignment takes a very long time to finish.

Apart from your assignment, as usual, every subject will have a test or quiz that will carry your marks later. High carry marks will calm your little soul by the end of the semester 😆.

It is quite long my writings today, InsyaAllah the next sharing I will just make it simple to ensure that you guys be prepared only before to become MASSCOM students.

INTRODUCTION TO MASSCOM (MC110)

Hey Assalamualaikum w.b.t and greetings to all.

First, I would like to welcome new readers to this blog. Today I want to share about what is Media And Communication Studies or called MASSCOM.

WHAT IS MASSCOM?

In this course, there are two-course divisions, namely Media And Communication Studies (MC110) and New Media Communication (MC111). By the way, this is the course code and one of the courses available at UiTM Melaka Branch, Alor Gajah Campus.

Perhaps people are familiar with this course but do not know what is contained in it. So basically, this course at the diploma level is more of a general or broad course that will expose us to various subjects. Each subject will be taught on the surface or basic knowledge regarding the subject. This course takes 2 and a half years if at UiTM and does not have an intern in the final semester. I will share pictures of the subjects that will be studied if taking this course for a diploma.

Subjects that we learn in this course

WHY DO YOU NEED TO CHOOSE MASSCOM?

So guys this course basically is a preparation for us to enter degrees that will be more specific such as Public Relations, Broadcasting, and many more under the Faculty Of Communication And Media. Basically, this course has many benefits, especially for those who are interested in the field of media and corporate because we will be exposed to a variety of corporate knowledge and the media itself.

These are among the MASSCOM graduates produced. Like I said earlier, this course is very broad if we talk about job opportunities. If I want to explain them one by one it gonna take a long period. Not only the media sector, but also the corporate sector is full of MASSCOM graduates.

That was the only explanation for this course. Next, I will explain the subject of each semester and the matter regarding MASSCOM deeper.
